While in the Coachella Valley we visited some of the well known date retail outlets such as the Oasis Date Gardens which has been operating for over 100 years and is famous for its date shakes.

Shields Date Garden is also a very famous retail outlet which has been operating for many, many years. We were blown away by the number of people lining up to buy date shakes, date products and souveniers. We had been especially looking forward to visiting these retail outlets and seeing how they operate to gain some ideas for our own marketing program.
Over the Memorial Day weekend we took some time out to have a look around the Coachella area and enjoy some of the tourist attractions such as the Air Tram to the top of Mount San Jacinto.

We had been warned it would be an icy 2 degrees Celsius up the mountain and we happened to be wearing Tshirts! Fortunately we didn't actually feel that cold and so were able to walk around through the pine forests on top of the mountain for a couple hours.
It was the most beautiful, serene place and we thoroughly enjoyed our morning there.
